Breaking Blog Ground

Hello and welcome to the House of Payne blog! Throughout the months you come, you will have the opportunity to read the chronicle of my own house remodel. You will quickly see that I am not immune design dilemmas and construction calamities as my wife, Janice, and I undertake a 1,000 square foot addition to our 1920's Spanish home.

Check back regularly for updates!

Hi, Michael,

My best friend and I have been fans for years I live in PA and she lives in Michigan and Thursday nights we'd meet online to watch you "together" on HGTV. We miss you there. I was just Googling for fun this afternoon and found this. I'll be interested to see how your transformation goes on.

Are you doing any television work these days?

Hello Michael,
I enjoy your show, "Designing for the Sexes," tremendously and have learned so much from you! I hope that you will be making more episodes in the future. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy following the chronicles of your own remodel.

If it weren’t for you, I’d still be living in a stark white house. The house is about 100 years old with fabulous natural chestnut millwork. My other half insisted that the only way to showcase it was to paint the walls white. It was the show in which you showed the husband that color, not Navaho White, would truly show off the woodwork. The husband was converted to color. My husband saw the show and he was converted. I now live in a house filled with color and I am eternally grateful to you for that.

I learned more from your show than any other and wish you were back on the telly. Meantime, best wishes with the remodel.

Hi Michael,
Your La Questa line is very nice. I'm looking to purchase the PLASMA STAND WITH SELF-RISING MECHANISM, number 352-346. I'm sure it will take a 46" Sony W3000, but what about the 52" Sony W3000? It's about 50.5" wide, and the actual widths of 50 Plasma TVs can vary quite a bit. What is the maximum width TV the peice will take?

Thanks,
Michael
